Directions to Riverfront Recapture Regatta, Hartford, CT

For Spectators and Athletes being dropped off:

(Use 410 Market St., Hartford for GPS)

Route 9 North to I-91 North.

Exit 32B (Trumbull St. Exit)

At FIRST light, take a Right onto Market St.

You will see a gas station on the right (Citgo?) Park in field behind this gas station.

You will take the footbridge over 91. The boathouse and Food Tents will be to the left but the viewing areas will be to the right (towards the Convention Center.) 

For Food Tent/Trailers:

From South of Hartford,

Route 9 North to I-91 North.

Take Exit 33, Jennings Road. Turn RIGHT at the end of the exit.

Take your first RIGHT onto Leibert Road.

The entrance to Riverside Park is on your LEFT

Directions to Lake Pocotopaug, East Hampton, CT
(Use Sears Park, 68 N. Main St, East Hampton, CT on GPS)
North on Main Street, Middletown.  Take Arrigoni bridge across to Portland. Turn right onto Route 66/Marlborough Street.  Follow for about 8 miles, staying on route 66.  Turn left onto N. Main Street in East Hampton.  Sears Park will be on the left, about 1/2 mile.  Park in lot to the right - do not park down by trailer.

Directions to Coventry Lake, Coventry, CT

Take a right onto Rt 31 follow towards center of town, pass police station on right. 
You will start down a decent hill, there is a Subway Plaza on left, gas station on right and a blinking light. 
This is the intersection for Rt 275 and Lake St and Rt 31. 
Take a right onto Lake Street. 
Go a quarter mile and on the right is the first entrance to Patriots Park, there is a white house after driveway. This is the entrance for the trailer.
The buses will pass this entrance and turn at the second entrance with the larger parking lot.

Directions to: Guilford Crew Race Venue, Quonnipaug Lake, Guilford, CT, Route 77

Directions from MHS Boathouse  (80 Harbor Dr, Middletown, CT 06457‎)

Head southeast on Harbor Drive baring right onto Union St – passing Middlesex Plate Glass (1stlight) and the YMCA (second light)

Continue straight through the 2nd light onto Pleasant St.

At the next light bare left onto South Main Street/Route 17

Follow Route 17 out of Middletown and through Durham

Bare left onto Route 77 South towards Guilford.

Follow for about 5 miles – staying on 77 South

Lake Quonnipaug will be on your left – continue until you see a large parking area on the right and small beach on the left.

From Middletown

Take RT 9 N to RT 91 N to 84 East. Take the The Massachusetts Turnpike East. Get off at Interstate Route 290 East (Worcester). Get off at Exit 22 (Main St.). Turn left at the end of the ramp. Turn left at the first traffic light onto North Quinsigamond Ave. The DRC is a quarter mile on the right.

From Middletown

Route 9 North

Route 66 West

Route 691 West

Route 84 West to Waterbury

Route 8 North – EXIT 20 toward Torrington

EXIT 42 toward Litchfield

Left on Route 118 West – Litchfield Road

Left on Route 118 West – West Street

Continue on Route 202

Turn Right on MAIN Street – ROUTE 45 N. - East Shore Road

Follow directions below to State Park

To Lake Waramaug State Park from Route 202

After turning onto Route 45, go through New Preston until you reach lake. Stay on Route 45 for one mile with the lake on your left until reaching North Shore Road and sign to State Park. Take left onto North Shore Road and follow for two miles to State Park. This is the easiest route; however State Police may direct you in different direction. Please be courteous and follow their directions. The trailer parks in one area and parent cars are in another area.

Directions to Farmington Boat House, Tunxis Mead Park, Farmington, CT 06032

 FROM Rt. 84 E or W

Exit 39 for Rt. 4 WEST! (Stay straight off exit ramp). This is a left exit from 84E.

Follow Rt 4 around S curve to first major intersection. Get in Left lane.

LEFT onto Rt 10 S. Follow to 2nd Traffic light for Meadow Road.

RIGHT onto Meadow Road. STRAIGHT at fork onto Red Oak Hill, across fields.

RIGHT into Tunxis Mead Park (Green sign on road).

Follow paved road to end, past baseball and softball fields, onto gravel road through gates to wide parking area. Please have all spectators park here.

Trailers may proceed down to boathouse and park along side of road. Rigging can take place in “field of weeds”’ next to boathouse.

FROM Rt. 9 N

Follow Rt 9 to end and bear left onto 84W. STAY RIGHT and continue to Exit 39.

Follow directions as above.

FROM Rt. 2 W

Follow Rt 2 until it ends in E. Hartford. Get onto 84 W and follow directions above.

FROM Rt. 10 S

Follow Rt 10 S into Farmington. Stay straight at the intersection with Rt. 4.

Follow directions as above.

FROM Rt. 4 E

Follow Rt. 4 into Unionville. At the 5-way intersection, bear RIGHT onto Rt. 177 S.

Over bridge, take first LEFT onto New Britain Ave.

Follow New Britain Ave to first Stop sign.

LEFT onto Red Oak Hill.

2nd Left into Tunxis Mead Park. Follow directions as above.

There are flush toilets and water fountains near the basketball courts and playground in Tunxis Mead. There is no running water at the boathouse, and only one port-o-pottie, so please plan ahead and make a pit stop if you need it.

 Please have all spectators park in the open area past the 2nd gate on the gravel road. Common Table supplies may be dropped off near the river, but please have all vehicles moved back to the parking area before races start.

 All rowers and spectators should be in some type of shoes (not flip-flops) due to rocks, broken glass, and construction debris that is near the boathouse.
